"[...] The theme of this international contest "Keeping the world sewing", resumes the new slogan of the company, chosen to celebrate the recent union of their two names : Husqvarna and Viking.
As a trademark, the size of the works, a square of 130 x 130 cm, has been maintained, just as the first contest, giving the harmony of the exhibition ; a size that seems to be perfect, not too small for a machine made quilt, and not too large for a machine embroidery work.
For this contest, we received 176 entries from 22 countries. Finally 80 works from 17 countries were selected by the jurors, to be part of this international touring exhibition. A final jury had had to select 6 winners.
"Keeping the world sewing" means that the pleasure to sew for people will go on increasing all over the world, through years, centuries, milleniums.
